What is the WMMFA ?

  • Public body – instrumentality of the state exercising essential governmental functions
  • Plan and implement collection, transportation, and recycling system on behalf of member manufacturers
  • Quasi governmental - Business management organization acting on behalf of citizens using financial resources provided by participating manufacturers
  • Develop innovative approaches to material management efficiency – increase use of secondary material resources
  • Financed by manufacturers of electronic products for their “responsibility” to fund the recycling of their share of covered electronic products based on their market and return shares of CEP’s (TV’s, computers, and monitors) by weight
