Fun Facts about the 2010 Cohort • 145 years combined teaching experience • Have taught approximately 15,860 students • Lived in 26 different U.S. states/territories • Visited 54 different countries • 17 Master’s degrees, 2 Ph.D.s, 1 J.D., 2 NBCTs • Teach in 12 different Loudoun Schools • Attended 20 different colleges/universities • Only 2 knew they wanted to be teachers upon graduating from high school • One is a certified beer master…

  3. Project Goal The Teachers in Industry Project is designed to bridge the gap between academic preparation (what is taught) and professional development (what is needed) for participation in the workforce of the future.

  4. Project Objectives Teachers will: • identify the core knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to be successful in the workforce of the future; • integrate the core knowledge and skills required for the 21st century workforce into classroom lessons, activities, and/or projects; • establish relationships with local businesses, industries, and government agencies to enhance communication and knowledge sharing.
