  1. Environmental Benefits of LEDs and OLEDs As responsible individuals we all are equally accountable for the responsibility of taking care of the environment. The majority of people are already aware of environmentally friendly processes like recycling to minimize the huge amount of waste we produce and reduce our carbon footprint. Nevertheless, there are a lot of people who are oblivious of the recent and imminent technologies that we can use to help reduce carbon emissions. A good example of this is LED and OLED lights from LG, which contribute many environmental advantages. Energy Saving When compared to the traditional lighting such as fluorescent and incandescent lights, LED lights are up to 80% more efficient. This is due to the fact that they convert 95% of the energy into light and only 5% is wasted as heat. This is a huge difference when compared to fluorescent lights which convert nearly 95% of energy to heat and only 5% into light! LED lights also draw much less power than traditional lighting which reduces the demand from power plants and decreases greenhouse gas emissions. Contain no Toxic Elements Another major benefit of LED lights is that they contain no toxic elements. Most offices are now using fluorescent strip lights which contain deleterious chemicals like mercury. This contaminates the environment when disposed of in landfill waste. Thus switching to LED reduces the cost and time required for compliant disposal and helps to protect the environment. You’ll need less lights LEDs and OLEDs have a superior quality of light distribution and concentrate light in one direction in contrast to other lighting which waste energy by emitting light in all directions, often illuminating areas where light isn’t required. This implies that fewer LED lights are required to achieve the same level of brightness given off by fluorescents and incandescent lights. Less lights reduce energy consumption and are, therefore, a benefit to the environment. Life span Lights that have a longer life span directly result in lower carbon emissions. LED and OLED Lights last up to six times longer than other, traditional types of lights and further reduce the requirement for frequent replacements. As a result, you end up using fewer lights and thus fewer resources are required for manufacturing processes, packaging materials and transportation. In reality, switching to the modern LED and OLED panel from LG can seem like a miniscule step toward energy efficiency, but the result across the globe can be a win-win for everyone.
