  1. VIGOTSKY postula que el buen aprendizaje es el que precede al desarrollo, por eso, la importancia que reviste la mediación en la ZDP. Dicho postulado puede representarse en la figura 1, en la cual el objeto que aspiramos a aprender y aprehender está en la zona real, mientras que la zona de desarrollo potencial está en el individuo, en la persona que desea construir un nuevo conocimiento.

  2. Luego, la distancia existente entre las dos zonas, y es la que Vygotsky denomina "zona del buen aprendizaje" y que se conoce como "ZDP". El proceso que se lleva a cabo en la ZDP, es similar al que Habermas mencionado por Silva (2005), describe en la acción comunicativa, cuando el intérprete debe suponer que el texto que le es presentado, resulta inicialmente incomprensible; sin embargo, es una manifestación de tipo racional,
