This study evaluates a community-based, non-medicalized HIV testing offer (CBOffer) alongside the standard medicalized HIV testing (SMOffer) in French voluntary counseling and testing centers. Conducted from March 2010 to April 2011, the research found that the CBOffer attracted men who have sex with men (MSM) who were less likely to have been tested in the previous two years and were more exposed to at-risk situations. The results indicate that non-medicalized HIV rapid testing is feasible and effective in reaching MSM with higher sexual risk attitudes, making it a public health priority.
