  2. Redfish Lake is nestled at the foot of the Sawtooth Mountains near Stanley, Idaho. Located about 2½ hours north of Boise, it is a perfect weekend getaway for those willing to brave the “potato” stigma. Redfish Lake Trip David and Sandy Litster – Summer 2007

  3. Redfish Lake is named for the sockeye salmon that come from the Pacific Ocean up the Columbia River to spawn in the rivers and streams of the Sawtooth Mountains. The Sockeye are currently an endangered species. Redfish Lake Trip David and Sandy Litster – Summer 2007

  4. Sandy and I traveled by motorboat from the lodge to the far end of the lake, where we set up camp. Our campsite had its own dock, which gave us a beautiful view of the lake. Redfish Lake Trip David and Sandy Litster – Summer 2007

  5. The next morning, we planned to row our raft back to the lodge to get fishing licenses. Luckily for us, a friendly couple camping near us offered to let us use their kayaks to paddle the five miles back to town. Redfish Lake Trip David and Sandy Litster – Summer 2007

  7. The next morning, we woke up early and Sandy got her pole in the water. She was rewarded with a nice fish. However, we thought that the fish was endangered, so we let it go. Redfish Lake Trip David and Sandy Litster – Summer 2007

  8. Later that afternoon, we packed up and left by motorboat. Our last morning, we enjoyed breakfast with my Dad at the lodge. Redfish Lake Trip David and Sandy Litster – Summer 2007
