  1. Morocco is a great place to visit. It offers a peek into the history and the culture of the people of the olden times. The incredible camel ride on the desert is the experience of the lifetime. There are so many things to do and so many places to visit. However, the tour may not always be as safe as we may think. While travelling with family or group we have to ensure the safety. Also, the safety measures need to be taken even while travelling alone. Here are a few things to do.

  2. At the night, do not walk alone It is best to avoid walking alone the dark streets at night. There are chances of getting mugged. Walk in the areas that are properly lit is fine. There are some streets that remain busy till midnight. So, strolling through those streets is fine. However, during the travel to Morocco one must avoid the areas that are deserted or less traversed. There is no denying that crimes against the tourists are quite common in certain areas. But this does not mean that we need to avoid travel to Morocco. We just need to be a little careful. Conservative dressing One must respect the culture and traditions of the place where they are. While it is okay to wear the skimpy clothes at other places, during the travel to Morocco it is best to dress conservatively. Morocco is a traditional Muslim country and hence their values should be respected. Female travellers do not need to wear hijab but it would be best if they kept their legs and shoulders covered.

  3. Avoid carrying too many valuable items There is no need to carry valuable item while leaving the hotel. The valuable items are safer at the hotel than outside. It is best to stick to the basic items that we may need for our trip. We cannot leave the camera in the hotel room. So, we will need to carry it with us. But besides that, there is no need to wear expensive jewellery. Beware of the scams This is not just with Morocco. No matter where we go, if the local shopkeepers think that we have a lot of money they will try to scam us into buying things and will raise the prices ridiculously. So, wearing jewellery is not a good idea as it will give them the hint that one is rich. The local shopkeepers tend to trick the tourists into buying things at a very high price. Therefore, do not buy anything at the quoted price. Always negotiate with the seller.

  4. Hire the guide with the tour company Do not hire a guide who works individually. Hire only with the travel company with whom the tour package has been taken. The tour companies verify the guides and if something wrong happens it is their responsibility. However, there is no guarantee with the individual guides. They can try to dupe the tourists. Also, it is not very safe to hire such guides.
