3. University Foundation Programmes We offer University Foundation Programmes in five fields: business management, law and social sciences, computer science, medicine and engineering. They are all designed to give you a sound academic background and the necessary tools to succeed at the undergraduate level. They offer an attractive alternative to the A level route to university with a shorter study period and a more practical approach, helping you to understand skills such as correct referencing, creating and delivering effective presentations, working in a team, debating and constructing essays. There is a strong focus on evaluation and application of knowledge, and on how to analyse and develop balanced arguments. These skills take time to develop and many students who go directly from school to university are placed at a disadvantage. You will complete our foundation courses with enhanced confidence in your ability to gain a good degree and progress to a successful career.

4. Pre-Masters Programme This short three month Pre-Masters in the ukis designed for students who have completed their first degrees but who want to prepare for study at masters level by improving their Academic English and Study Skills. The course helps students to develop their language skills and achieve the standard required to meet university language entry requirements. Our Pre-Masters also helps students to prepare for the style of teaching and learning required at postgraduate level, developing research skills, understanding how to avoid plagiarism, and how to make effective academic presentations.

5. Pre-Masters in Law This Pre-Masters in Law program is designed for graduates wanting to progress onto an LLM or other law-related  Master’s degree in the UK. It is a full-time course taught over one academic year focusing on different aspects of the UK and international law including English legal system, contract law, law of tort, equity and trusts, and international law.

6. Postgraduate Diploma in Business & Management IFG’s wide ranging postgraduate diploma in business management is designed for students wishing to take a master’s in business related subjects at UK universities. It meets the entry requirements of the University of Gloucestershire for the final part of its MBA. Therefore, our course takes you two thirds of the way to a full Gloucestershire MBA as students need only complete the final 60 master’s credits with a dissertation, which can either be completed at the university or on an online basis. Alternatively, students can progress to full master’s courses at a range of other UK universities. The course is wide ranging with a strong practical element helping to develop postgraduate research skills and further their knowledge and understanding of different aspects of management such as marketing, human resource strategy and financial management. There is also a module on entrepreneurship preparing students for their dream of starting and running their own businesses.

7. Pre-PhD Preparation Programme Applying for a PhD course can be a confusing and daunting process. Our three-month course will help to identify a research topic and develop a research proposal which is right for you, and take you step by step through the University’s application process. It will equip you with the academic and research skills which are required to successfully gain a place at a UK university and to embark on your research studies with confidence. The course consists of a series of workshops together with one-to-one sessions. 8. Pre DBA Programme DBA programmes are becoming an increasingly attractive way in which to advance qualifications and enhance professional development. However, the application process is more difficult and confusing than for other degree courses. Our Pre-DBA programme, completed over four weeks, helps to take students step-by-step through the process as well as developing research skills once a student starts his or her DBA course.

9. English Language Programmes IFG offers a range of general and more specialist English language courses which can be taken separately or as part of a combined programme. These courses are also available to study online. Whether you want to improve your IELTS grade or improve your communication skills for business purposes, our qualified and experienced teachers will help you to make the most of your time with us. Teaching takes place in small groups which means that tutors can focus more easily on the specific needs of individual students. It is also possible to combine group lessons with one-to-one sessions. After an initial assessment, you will discuss your own individual study plan with one of our tutors and, as your course continues, regular assessments will show the progress you are making and highlight any weaknesses which need to be worked on.
