  2. WHAT IS PRIVACY SHRUB? A coniferous tree or shrub with evergreen foliage in shades of green, blue-green, or gold. The narrow pyramidal shape and dense growth habit of varieties like Polar Gold or North Pole make them particularly well-suited for privacy hedging. Plants can be used to screen various parts of the yard or to line the perimeter of a property.

  3. A PRIVACY HEDGE MUST BE MAINTAINED The key to maintaining a perfectly dense privacy hedge in top condition is regular side pruning. If the hedge is allowed to grow long and lanky before being severely cut, gaps will result (this can typically be fixed in laurels and beech, but not usually in conifers). With fast-growing varieties, you only need to give your hedges a quick, simple trim once a year, and with slow- growing species, you only need to do it once every two years. If the top half of the privacy hedges is cut to be slightly narrower than the bottom, the lower branches will stay lush and full.

It is also known as Skip laurel, Schipka laurel, or Cherry laurel. It also has a little darker green, longer, narrower leaf form. from full sun to shade, it can grow.
