The current status of leadership A survey conducted by borderless research in 2016 on close to 1000 executives across a range of industries found: 43% Leadership Development is believed to be a main driver for ensuring delivery of business results (43%) and business growth (20%). 44% Nearly half of respondents (44%) characterize leadership development in their organization as poor, and more than half (54%) describe it as ineffective. 56% A majority (56%) believe support from top management to be a critical success factor for ensuring effective leadership development within organizations.   12. Leadership Development in a traditional manufacturing company Our client is one of the largest stainless steel conglomerates in India. The company was looking at enhancing the leadership capability of its critical leaders, who were spread across functions in line with their strategic goals • Objectives • Process • Output • The identified leaders needed to be: • Developed to excel in their current role • Elevate the organisation to the next level • A 6 month journey with multiple phases and interventions were needed • Primary focus on, strategic orientation innovation and inspirational Leadership More than 50% of the participants showed a substantial improvement: Strategic thinking Building better communication behaviors to inspire and influence others. Two phase journey was created Phase 1: Understanding the current state, desired state and the gaps Phase 2: Development journey based on the inputs from Phase 1.
