  3. Restoring My Brother • According to Galatians 6:1, who is to restore a wayward brother? With what king of spirit is he to do this work? • What two things are accomplished when an erring brother is converted, according to James 5:19-20?

Restoring My Brother • Read the story of the prodigal son as recorded in Luke 15:11-32 and answer the following questions: • What steps were involved in the younger brother’s return to the father? • How did the father demonstrate his joy in seeing the younger brother return? • What attitudes caused the older son to reject his brother?

  5. Restoring My Brother • Read Acts 8:18-24. What steps did Peter take in restoring Simon? • Read 2 Samuel 12:1-14. Discuss the wisdom Nathan demonstrated in restoring David. • Consider Jude 22, 23. Do we approach all sinners the same way? Discuss • List hindrances that keep us from trying to restore our brothers and sisters who fall back into sin.

  6. Restoring My Brother • According to 2 Peter 2:20-22 and Hebrews 10:38-39, what is the position of one who falls back? Does such a person need to be restored? • What are some of the causes of people falling away? Is it important that we understand why one has fallen away as we try to restore him/her?

  7. Restoring My Brother • What are some qualities you must possess if you are to be effective in restoring the wayward? • Challenge: Try to restore some wayward Christian this week. What steps must you take in trying to do this?
