Prototype Year of Programming - Assumptions Branch size: Small – less than 30 members Medium – 30 to 100 members Large – more than 100 Program choices and type (branch or community outreach program): Small branches –fewer people to plan/execute, fewer community outreach programs Medium to Large branches – more people to plan/execute, more community outreach programs

8. Program Types Branch Meeting • 60- to 90-minute meetings designed mainly for your branch members but open to guests/the public Community Outreach Program • From one-hour to full-day meeting/workshop mainly for the public, e.g., school students, community residents, women’s groups, etc.

SPEECH TREKProgram in a Box Content: • Planning - Intended audience, location, marketing plan, volunteer staffing, budget, estimated planning time, etc. • Personnel - Identify and secure qualified competition judges • Equipment/Supplies - Wireless microphones, time cards, stop watch, greeters table with AAUW info • Focus- Select speech competition topics, e.g., career choices, equal pay, stereotyping, sexual harassment, other mission-based topics • Benefits - Market this program and AAUW to your community and state

Global Issues for Women and GirlsProgram in a Box What:Informative event using local experts focused on universal barriers for women and girls Content: • Planning - Intended audience, variety of format options, budget, estimated planning time, etc. • Personnel - Sources of qualified speakers with international experience • Equipment/Supplies - Wireless microphones, computer & projector if requested by speakers, greeters table with AAUW info • Suggested Topics - Human trafficking, violence against women, sexual assault

13. The Invisible WarProgram in a Box What:Host a screening of this film showing how the military handles sexual assault, with follow-up discussion to educate members and the community. Content: • Planning - Intended audience, location, estimated planning time, discussion guide, budget considerations, etc. • Personnel - AAUW can help find someone in the film to participate in the discussion • Benefit - LAF supports two plaintiffs in the film; use as a fundraiser

14. The Princeton ReviewProgram in a Box What:Use The Princeton Review SCORE Program college/grad school prep workshop and practice exams for women. Branch may offer free or charge nominal fee. Content included: • Planning - Intended audience, location (space for 50), marketing plan, volunteer staffing, estimated planning time, etc. • Personnel - The Princeton Review provides free proctors for tests, free speakers for workshops • Equipment/Supplies – Whiteboards, data projector and screen, microphone, greeters table with AAUW info • Benefit –Possible fundraiser

Alternate Format Year of Programming What about substituting alternate formats for monthly meetings? • Community Outreach Programs - pay equity, human trafficking • Series of similarly themed programs - STEM, sexual assault • Fundraisers for AAUW Funds, Fellowships & Grants, NCCWSL and local scholarships • Programs with local College/University Partner – Campus Action Projects, LAF Campus Outreach Programs, $tart $mart, Elect Her
