Akhan@JMT.com Chairman, Structures Group Charles Birnstiel, Ph.D., P.E., of Hardesty & Hanover, NYC, will discuss design and practical aspects of the different types of movable bridges located on rivers in the Northeast. Dr. Birnstiel has considerable experience in design and operation of movable bridges and has published a text book and numerous papers on the subject.
