  4. In Górowo there are:- four schools-one hospital-three churches-two banks- one restaurant-one pubOur town is very small but we really enjoy living here!!!

  5. The beggining of our town was closely connected with Teutonic Order. They were cruel for inhabitants of Górowo Iławeckie. But there was someone who had fight against Teutonic Knights for over 25 years. It was Hercus Monte. His story was rather sad, because in the end he was hanged.

  6. On 17th February 1807 we had Napoleon Bonaparte as a guest. Just for one day, but still... Today there is a Byzantine-Ukrainian presbytery .

  7. Over 650 years in our town there was plague,cholera and typhus epidemic. There also was fire (more than seven times) .

  8. After the Second World War inhabitants of Górowo were from Germany, Poland and Ukraine. That's why we have three different churches.

  11. Our school was established in 1925. Firstly as a primary school and in 1999 as a junior high school- Gimnazjum nr 1 in Górowo Iławeckie. From 1925 to 2007 we had 2729 graduates.

  12. In May 2006 we took the name of Jan Paweł .II W maju 2006 roku nastąpiło uroczyste nadanie imienia naszej szkole i wręczenie sztandaru.

  13. That day we had a lot of visitors: local authorities,town council, clerical authority, teachers from Achim school, headteachers of all schools in our town and many other people... ( the list was very very long, so we've decided to cut it out ;-) sorry.

  14. In 2007 we decided to have special place in honour of our patron.

  15. In May 2001 our school and school in Achim started the program of students exchange. Every October we visit Achim and .....

  16. ...every June German students come to our town to spend two weeks with................ US !!!!!!

  17. Sometimes we are not as serious as our teachers would like us to be ;-) We have many festivals and after school activities , e.g.: cabaret, newspaper, school choir and sports club.

  18. We also organize rock concerts.

  19. If we have too much energy we can visit gymnasium or to be a member of our sports club „Bociek-Stork”

  20. Good place to dream about being fit.

  21. Our teacher Tomasz Zaremba is the Polish Champion of Taekwon-do. On PE lessons we sometimes learn how to defend ourselves.

  22. Every year our school organizes district computer competition GIMBAJT.

  23. Our Headteacher Lilianna Sapalska with the winners of Gimbajt 2007.

  24. At the end of school year our best students are rewarded for the best results with Gold, Silver and Bronze FOX
