NPD: The Data Collection Process 2005 • Pupil Level Annual School Census (PLASC) • Schools complete census –20th January • Deadline for school returns – 17th February • Data cleaning – March - April • Closure of database - May • Extract of PLASC provided to NPD – 25th May • PLASC data matched into NPD – 16th June
NPD: The Data Collection Process 2005 • Key Stage 1 (Version 1 & Version 2) • Schools complete KS1 assessments - 30th June • Local Authorities submit data to DfES – 31st July • KS1 version 1 extract provided to NPD – 10th August • KS1 NPD version 1 available on request – 13th September • Local Authorities chased - Autumn Term • KS1 version 2 provided to NPD – End January 06 • KS1 NPD version 1 available on request – Beginning March 06
NPD: The Data Collection Process 2005 • Year 7 Progress Test (Y7) data • Tests carried out – 9th May – 13th May • Mark sheets provided to marker – 2 days after tests • Tests marked – June/July • Y7 data extracted provided to NPD – 22nd August • Y7 data matched into NPD – 13th September • Y7 NPD data available for release – 27th September
NPD: The Data Collection Process 2005 • Key Stage 2 (KS2) data • Tests administered – 9th May – 13th May • Datafeed provided to AAT matching contractor – 15th August • Data extract provided to NPD – 9th September • Unamended KS2 NPD available for release – 25th October • Schools provide amendments to AAT checking contractor – Beginning October • Amended KS2 extract provided to NPD – 11th November • Amended KS2 NPD available for release – 16th December • Errata changes taken on board – February 06 • Data extract provided to NPD – 24th February 06 • Final KS2 NPD available for release – 7th April 06
