New river pilot project
New River Pilot Project

  • Board/Imperial County/CHP aerial survey of New River identified 47 illegal dump sites

  • All sites have been characterized and 37 of the properties are privately owned

  • All property owners have been sent Notices to Abate by Imperial County staff

  • Potential master agreement for cleanup under Farm and Ranch Grant program

  • Emerging policy issue on waiver of cost recovery on private property
