  3. What is considered public service? Counts as Public Service Does Not Count Compensated work Campaigning on behalf of political candidates Work to promote goals that are inconsistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church (i.e Planned Parenthood) Work for which a student is receiving mentor credit Work That satisfies a course requirement or clinic Compensated work as a research or teaching assistant • Uncompensated work for a non-profit organization (i.e. Habitat for Humanity) • Lead a church youth group • Volunteer through Minnesota Justice Foundation • Legal or administrative tasks for an organization • Youth sports team coach • Park cleanup volunteer
