  1. Why The Indian Community in Sydney is Growing Constantly Over the past few years, there has been a spurt in the number of Indians in various Australian cities and this has been due to several reasons. From better job opportunities to higher education, there have been so many reasons for Indians to migrate to Australia, and perhaps this is the best explanation for the ever growing Indian community in Sydney. When a large number of Indians started living in Australia, they started looking for other Indians, mainly to keep their own ethos alive. Most Indians wanted their children to stay in touch with their own culture, as opposed to getting completely drenched in the Australian way. This instigated them to create small associations, wherein they would meet on a regular basis, share stories from back home and even celebrate all the festivals together. Eventually, these groups started growing in number and are now spread across the length and breadth of the continent. The Sydney Indian magazine also played an important role in this expansion, because it enabled the easy exchange and spread of information from one place to another. With Indians at the helm of these magazines, it was easy to spread the word about upcoming events and even special guests who might be gracing these events. The magazine also became a showcase for the immigrants, because now they could share recipes, tips and tricks which could be used around the house and much more. Today there are a rare few Indians, who are not a part of the Indian community in Sydney, because they understand the value of being with their own countrymen.
