HHP E-Advising Process: Initial Appt w/ Student • New intended EXSS student meets with advisor for an initial advising appointment: • Talk to student about interests, discuss major (EP, HFS, PETE, SS), answer any questions. Look at HHP Advising Website, under Academic Info  Dept of EXSS*. • Pull up student transcript on Banner Self Service and make personalized E-Checksheet* with student. Review major requirements and any pertinent advising info (ex: academic standing/GPA goals, pre-health courses, etc.) with student. • If applicable, complete E-Registration Slip* with student.

HHP E-Advising Process: AFTER Initial Appt w/ Student • STEP 1: Advisor will send a “Welcome Email” with their E-Checksheet and all applicable major planning documents attached (including E-Registration Slip) to student. • Will copy our administrative assistant to update student info in our record keeping system (referred to as “the Big Book”).* • Indicate in this email: • Major Change – from [previous major] to EP/HFS/PETE/SS • New transfer (TR) student

HHP E-Advising Process: AFTER Initial Appt w/ Student • STEP 2: On HHP Advising Share Drive, advisor will create Student E-Folder* in the appropriate major’s sub-folder and save student E-Checksheet and E-Registration Slip there. • Can also be saved in Student E-Folder: student picture, advising notes, email correspondences from student, GPA Calculator/Goals, INB screenshots, other E-advising forms, etc.

How Will E-Advising Impact You?Declaring Major in Dept of EXSS • After student has notified advisor of meeting all requirements to declare and declaring process for major has been reviewed with such student, advisor will “check out student” from HHP Advising Center: • Advisor will send a “Declaring Major Email” to student and appropriate Program Director. • Will copy our administrative assistant to update student info in our record keeping system (referred to as the“Big Book”), and Dept of EXSS Chairperson, to send congratulatory email emphasizing importance of scheduling meeting to declare ASAP. • Indicate in this email: • Major student is declaring in and that Student E-Folder has been moved to Ready to Declare sub-folder. • Student will contact Program Director to schedule appointment to officially declare. • On our HHP Advising Share Drive, advisor will cut + paste Student E-Folder to EXSS-Faculty-Advising “Ready to Declare” sub-folder.* • Program Director can choose to make paper folder OR keep E-Advising System by cut + pasting Student E-Folder to appropriate declared advisor folder after meeting with student to officially declare.
