Despite the call to preach the Gospel, not everyone responds positively to its message. This discussion explores the reasons behind non-conversion, emphasizing that the issue is not with the Gospel itself, which is complete and sufficient. Key factors include a lack of spiritual concern, material distractions, procrastination, hard-heartedness, and the tendency to overthink God's simple plan. The conclusion encourages perseverance in sharing the Gospel message, affirming its power to convict hearts despite the challenges of conversion.

Scripture Reading Romans 10:13-16
Why Aren’t All Converted? • Only a small number of those who hear the gospel are converted. • Why? • If you look in the book of Acts, you read of thousands being converted and being baptized, yet there are others or are not. • The problem of non-conversion is not a new problem.
Why Aren’t All Converted? • The problem is NOT: • A problem with the gospel (Romans 1:16). • The same message caused some to believe and some did not. • The gospel is complete and sufficient (2 Peter 1:3). • Could be a problem of: • Not enough gospel preaching. • A polluted gospel being preached (Matt. 7:15) • Adding to or taking away (Gal. 1:8)
Why Aren’t All Converted? • The problem is NOT: • Sins too big or too many. • Jesus’ blood is sufficient (1 Cor. 6:9-11). • We sometimes have a problem with that. • A Lack of God’s grace • Titus 2:11 • His grace not limited to a few.
Why Aren’t All Converted? • The problem is NOT: • The preacher or teacher • Parable of the Sower. • We (preachers and teachers) can get in the way of the gospel; can have a lack of concern; not being properly prepared.
Why Aren’t All Converted? • The problem IS: • A lack of Spiritual Concern. • Many are caught in material things (Mt. 16:26; 1 Tim. 6:6-10). • Economic hardship in this country might help some people create time for God. • A love for sin. • Heb. 11:24-26 • People will allow themselves to be in bondage to sin (Rom. 6:17-18). • Some are unwilling to give up certain sins.
Why Aren’t All Converted? • The problem IS: • Procrastination; putting off Jesus. • Ac. 26:27-28- “almost persuaded” • Heb. 10:26-27 a decision not to obey is a decision against God (Ac. 16:33). • Hard Hearted • A close line between procrastination and outright rejection (Ac. 7:51). • A common problem. • Some are self-willed
Why Aren’t All Converted? • The problem IS: • Some think they are too smart (1 Cor. 1:26). • When we try to outthink God, we say we don’t believe Him but believe in ourselves. • For many His plan is too simple.
Conclusion • Just because all are not converted doesn’t mean that we can stop preaching the word. • We must persevere and never give up our faith or faith in God’s word and its ability to convict the hearts of men and women (Romans 1:16-17).
