  1. #GYEAGBO Gotten from the Twi native language, “GYE” meaning “SAVE” and “AGBO” being an abbreviated form of Agbogbloshie, is a movement proposed to tackle the E-Waste Problem through information and creating awareness.

  2. OUR INITIATIVES Manufacturers Society Agbogbloshie Educating consumers on E-Waste using Informative packages accompanied with appliances. Encouraging consumer recycling with turn-in bonuses (#trash4cash). Engaging in Research and development to create biodegradable appliances. Starting up an E-Waste awareness program. Creating general awareness through social media and trends. Setting up the movement #GYEAGBO. Organizing events and rallies that will gain the attention and interest of sponsors who will invest in development and problem solving activities. (for example; an awareness football match in agbogbloshie) We visualize a long term plan of developing the first copper museum in Ghana which will be located in the very heart of Agbogbloshie. We also plan to transform the scrap workers into craftsmen by having them master the skills and art of copper crafting.

  3. Transformative Potentials • The tool of informative influence from the manufacturers will enlighten consumers on recycling processes. The general community will be more empathetic. Also encouraging discounts and giveaways will prompt consumers to be more ‘recycle’ friendly. • With trend-setting and general media awareness, the extended community will become more involved in the e-waste eradication movement. Sponsors will also emerge naturally as publicity will be created. Furthermore Agbogbloshie now becomes “everybody's” business. • A place that was once known for negative factors, will now not only be the pride of Ghana but one of the most prestigious centres for exploration and tourism in Africa. THIS IS #GYEAGBO
