  2. Definition • Medical malpractice denotes that a healthcare provider acts in an improper, unskilled, or negligent manner – by act or omission – when treating a patient.

Legal Responsibility • 0.5% of world healthcare providers undergo medical malpractice. • Hospitals and institutions may represent " apparent authorities " liable to medical malpractice, due to inefficient contracts with healthcare providers and/or lack of policies for preventable medical errors.

  4. Elements of Medical Malpractice • Doctor's legal duties to patients . • Negligence. • (3) Injury or harm to patients. • (4) Causation. • (5) Proof by an expert.
