  1. Do I have enough points to qualify under Express Entry?

  2. The Express Entry system is an “expression of interest” system of economic immigration.

  3. Previously, Canada had a first-come-first-serve system.

  4. Under the new system, qualifying under a program is not good enough.

  5. Express Entry candidates are ranked on things such as education, language proficiency as measured by certain approved proficiency exams, work experience, and age.

  6. You can also get points for having an employer with a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) or by receiving a nomination certificate under select Provincial Nominee Programs.

  7. Finding an employer with an LMIA in a skilled occupation will give you an extra 600 points.

  8. Receiving a provincial nomination may also give you 600 points.
