  10. Benchmark Reading • A Balanced Approach to Reading Shared Reading, Guided Reading, Independent Reading, Read-A-Loud • We test with IRR throughout the year to assess reading level • State Reading test = beginning of year IRR

Benchmark Writing • Students will learn the writing process. • Students will write a longer pieces. • Students will use capital letters correctly. • Students will learn to use correct grammar in simple sentences. • Student will learn different writing genres including narratives, expository writing, argumentative writing, and letters.

  21. Extra’s • Please join PTSA They are SOOO supportive of the classroom and teachers • Be sure to check your child’s backpack each night • Help with reading and homework as necessary

  22. Classroom needs • We have snack time every day after Specialists • We all have the same snack • Please donate for the snack cupboard: crackers, Cereal, chips, fruit snacks, pretzels, cookies, etc. NO NUTS Cups for our drinking water.
