  4. Mughal Rulers of India Some Mughal rulers were tolerant of Indian Culture. AKBAR-Ruled the Mughal Empire from 1556-1605 What is he best known for? He took a Hindu wife and allowed all religions to worship freely and participate in government.

  5. The Mughal empire thrived under Akbar’s tolerant leadership By 1658 the Mughal Empire covered almost the entire sub-continent of India

  6. Shah Jahan Shah Jahan ruled until 1658 • Shah Jahan continued Akbar’s policies. He allowed Hindus to worship freely and have a place in government!! What do you think happened after he died??? Perhaps there’s a lesson in this for us??
