Basrah Children’s Hospital • Scope • Includes a 94-bed main hospital building and a 36-bed residence hall • Effect • Provide the only state-of-the-art pediatric specialist hospital in Iraq, viewed by the MoH as the single most important development in its Health Care System; will also be a training facility, improving and expanding the training of health professionals throughout Iraq • Status • 91% complete; ECD: Feb-Jun 09 (transitional turnover) • Total Funding: $163.8M • Total GRD-Managed Funding: $55.1M • US Contracts (Hospital Building) - Includes Main Bld, • Electrical and Mechanical Plants • 96% complete; ECD: 31 February 09 • Project Components • 94-bed clinical and training pediatric hospital with focus on oncology (16,000 square meters) • 2 utility buildings, 38-bed residence hall, plant, and autoclave Gulf Region Division ~ MNF-I ~ USACE 5 5
