Rules for Respectful Peer Review • Look at and listen to the reader. • When a reader finishes ask questions to clarify points of curiosity or confusion, or offer a comment. • Wait for the reader to call on you. • Offer positive  and specific feedback on the writing. • 2 stars and a wish • 2 things the person did well (give specific examples) • 1 thing you wish was different

  4. Sample Peer Review Notes Annie : Interesting dialogue between Hansel and Gretel. : Things like Walmart, the bus, and 911 are good ways to modernize the story. Wish: Please try to add more dialogue between Hansel and his parents.

  5. What To Do During Peer Review • Sit in a circle with your group members. • Take turns reading each paper aloud. Start by reading the title. • Discuss each paper after it is read. • Writers make a record of the feedback on their paper for later reference and revision.
