  • He was born in Shorau, Upper Silesia, Germany.

  • 1892 moved to Breslau, to attend high school.
  • Received Ph.D. from University of Breslau in 1912.
  • Went to University of Frankfort in1914.

  • From 1921 to 1922 he was Associate Professor of Theoretical Physics at the University of Rostock.
  • In 1923, Otto Stern became Professor of Physical Chemistry and Director of the laboratory at University of Hamburg.
