  2. AEC MISSION STATEMENT AND OBJECTIVES • The AEC is the umbrella organization for the largest consulting firms in Spain representing 85,000 highly-educated professionals • The main objective of the AEC is to promote the interests of the Spanish consulting industry and its member firms

  3. CONSULTING IN SPAIN • Revenues • 20%: Traditional consultancy (strategic, business processes, logistics, etc) • 44% : IT systems development and integration • 36%: Outsourcing: • ITO 43% • AM 41% • BPO 16%

CONSULTING IN SPAIN • AEC companies represent over 80% of the Spanish consultancy market (around 7.6 billion euros) and over 60% of its employees • The consulting sector has the largest number of employees with a university degree from of all Spanish industries • The sector develops the highest rate of innovation (2 billion euros) working directly with clients in three main primary sectors • Finance (banking and insurance): 27% • Public Administration: 17% • Telecommunications: 15%

THE SECTOR IN NUMBERS • During 2007 the Spanish consulting industry grew 11.4% over the previous year • Total revenue in 2007 was 9.5 billion euros • The total revenue of the AEC members was 7.6 billion euros (representing 80% of the total revenue) • Consulting activities represent 1% of Spanish GDP, but contributed to 8% of its growth
