  1. A Modern Green Roof for Portsmouth’s New Illustrious House IKO Polymeric and Latchmore Roofing worked on an exciting development in Wellington Street, one of the most popular locations in Portsmouth. The new development, Illustrious House, is a modern building with 5 floors and 16 spacious apartments including 5 balconies and 6 Juliets. The main roof area was completed by installing an outstanding green roof overlooking a spectacular panorama of Portsmouth. IKO Polymeric’s Armourplan membrane was used as the waterproofing below the green roof. Pre-installed sedum filled units were chosen to speed up the installation of the green roof, with the units simply laid on the roof and clipped together. Latchmore Roofing also specified premium PVC membrane Armourplan P for the upstands to provide better durability; and therefore extended guarantees. IKO Polymeric’s approved contractor Latchmore Roofing has demonstrated an excellent standard of workmanship on this project. The roofing programme started in July 2016 and was completed in early 2017; and the brand new apartments have now opened their doors to the first residents.
