Empowering women struggling with breast cancer is one of the most crucial steps in helping them recover successfully. The significance of empowerment denotes a rising trend worldwide aspiring to place the patient at the centre of health care. Among multiple definitions of this concept, several key components are universally recognised involving knowledge and skills (of the patient) and available procedures in the health care system that would allow the person to take control over their health care needs. Getting timely information from physicians and health providers would enable cancer patients to participate in the decision-making based on their ability to understand. Having more knowledge of their health status, treatment options and alternative medical paths is essential for empowerment. An emphatic approach by health professionals also plays huge importance. The role of primary care physicians in the course of the illness and even in chronic care management was highlighted. Community-based networks and centres like family, spiritual places, yoga classes, mentoring and volunteer groups for other survivors are excellent sources of support and empowerment but also for imbuing meaning in their daily lives. Most importantly, these groups are not just culturally sensitive to the need of the individual patient, but also provides a platform for cross-

According to a study, empowering women with breast cancer using technological tools shows that the co-production of ICT tools is highly significant. The health literacy of patients is an essential factor in translating knowledge into practice, helping to build an optimistic view of daily living and also to effectively communicate with the health care system and participate in co-decisions.
