  2. Background • NIST SGIP TCC developing IPRM(InteropProcess Reference Manual) • IPRM specifies requirements of ITCAs(Interop Testing and Certification Authority) • OSG will act as ITCA • OSG TC to decide whether to accept IPRM

  3. IPRM Issues • Test labs adopt ISO 17025Lab Competency • Technical requirements • Management requirement • Supeset of ISO 9001 requirements • OSG programs to adopt ISO Guide 65Bodies operating certification system • Administrative policies • Technical requirements • Many other additional requirements

  4. IPRM Concerns for OSG • Most existing labs don’t have 17025 • Guide 65 disallows OSG membership requirement as condition for testing • May conflict with OSG business case • IPRM might remove this requirement but desires to adopt ISO standard “as-is”

  5. Path forward • OSG TC agrees to adopt TCC IPRM • Requires ITCA for each standard • OSG Conformity creates short guide to IPRM compliance by ITCAs • One OSG group submits to IPRM assessment • Creates draft ITCA document(s) • Assessment/edit iteration(s) • ITCA documents finalized • Long-term : ANSI accreditation of ITCA
