  6. Definition of Asthma… A chronic breathing disease caused by allergies, physical exertion, or other factors.

  7. What causes an asthma attack? • Smoke • Viruses • Hyperventilation • Exercise • Cold air • Dry air • Emotions, anxiety, or stress

  9. What to do during an attack… • Use prescribed medicine • Use breathing strategies • Cough to loosen mucous • Monitor symptoms and call for help if they worsen

  10. Review Homework: Create a possible survey about asthma. You will write a 3 question survey to be given to three different people. You must sample a wide audience. Each of the following must be included: one person at least three years younger than you, one classmate, one person at least ten years older than you.
