Definition • WORK-Dictionary : Physical or mental effort or activity directed toward the production or accomplishment of something. • MONEY-Dictionary : A medium that can be exchanged for goods and services and is used as a measure of their values on the market including among its forms a commodity such as gold, an officially issued coin or note, or a deposit in a checking account or other readily liquefiable account.

3. Money and Work • Many people work for their family and/or themselves to make money • Most of people believe money could give them better life. • Some people just work for money. • HOWEVER, work actually defines who you are.

Work • Having a job helps • People to realized the value of money. • Sense of independence. • Work ethic. • Understanding of jobs. • Therefore, work is not only make money, but also, specially for teenagers, work and job helps them to find out their aptitude and interesting through its direct experience for later life.

5. Americans and Work • According to the article, Five American Values by Leah Eskin, he said, “Work ethic, Americans believe in the values of our earliest settlers. The puritans believed people prove their worth through disciplined achievement.”

Americans and Work • From the poem, I Hear America Singing by Walt Whitman, It said, “I hear America singing, the varied carols I hear”, “Singing with open mouths their strong melodious songs.” • There are many workers in this poem, such as mason, carpenter, blank, deckhand, and others. They are happy to have their own jobs to contribute for the country. • Therefore, work is not only for ourselves, but also, it is for society and national development.

7. Conclusion • Work defines your identity • Work contributes for the development of country you live. Although the job is not highly educated one, every single job is necessary • Work provides you better life through making money, work ethic and responsibility.
