  1. Appendectomy operation By Christian Kildal-brandt And Austin Frasco

  2. Problem • The appendix ruptures and contaminates the body with hazardous fluids. The appendix must be removed to stop the inundation of said poisons. Speed is integral to the operation as the longer the operation takes the greater opportunity the poisons get to harm the encumbered person.

  3. Appendectomy procedure • The appendix is located in the lower right portion of the abdomen and is considered a vestigial structure. Although not having an appendix carries no benefits it will not severely incapacitate the patient if taken out. • The appendix is taken out through a procedure called an appendectomy within which the abdomen is cut open at a point near the appendix and a robotic arm inserted to usurp the appendix out from the patient. After the appendix is taken out the incision is sealed and the patient is put on antibiotics and can return home within a few days.

  4. Construction • Fabricated a robot with a pincer-esque arm along with a program for the purpose of creating an incision at the point of the ruptured appendix. In addition designed a program and a second robot in co-ordination to the design of the first that will inhibit the robot to follow the incision pattern that we lay out upon said ruptured appendix area.
