  4. After School Activities • GAP: Glenwood Acceleration Program- after school tutoring • ECC: Extended Child Care • Karate and Ballet are offered on Wednesday starting at 2:00 pm • Piano lessons and workout equipment available before school starting at 7:30 am

Parent Involvement at Glenwood Cont. • Family Resource Center • To assist “at-risk” children and their families in the prevention & ending of problems • Works closely with the Glenwood students and families in the following areas: • Information & referral to community services • Educational goals assistance • Family advocate • Transportation & Utilities Assistance • Food & Clothing Assistance • Attendence • Help with filing paperwork • Parent Education Classes

Parent Involvement at Jefferson Middle • PTO • Meets 1st Monday every month at 8AM, Rm 207 • For October: • Fall Fundraiser: will go from Oct. 22 – October 28 • Foreign Language Club: holding a food drive from Nov. 12-15 to support food pantries at St. Mary’s & Glenwood Baptist. • Wetlands Fencing Project: Rejected last month, but tabled due to high cost/low current budget. • Wants to have wetlands fencing, mulch under picnic table projects. • Students & Parents partake in weed-eating in local cemeteries.

Grouping & Tracking • Glenwood Elementary School • Reading & Math: • RTI2: • Tier 1 Small Group Reading • Tier 2 Second Small Group Reading • Tier 3 Third Small Group Reading • These are based on their reading level. • F&P Reading Levels • Dr. Beverly TinerReading Study(used to find reading groups) • CFA- Math to determine their Tier (Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3) • They are able to move from group to group without leaving the classroom. Some get put in more than one group depending on their reading level.

  11. Glenwood Elementary Administration • Pearl Goins: Principal • The principal basically runs the school. They are in charge of discipline and any decisions made. • Gwen Harrel: Administrative Assistant • The administrative assistant steps in when the principal is not available. • Debbie Diemer: Counselor • The counselor’s primary goal is to encourage, support, and foster positive development • Nadine Wilder: Secretary • The secretary is involved in both clerical and administrative support.
