Resisting Change • Are incapable of the task • Are not motivated • Are poorly managed • Do not have enough time to do the task • Don’t know how to do the task • Don’t know what they are supposed to do • Don’t know why they should do it • Don’t think the new way will work • Face obstacles beyond their control • Have the wrong priorities • Think their way is better • Think they’re doing it right – have no feedback

  9. Building Trust Find common ground Don’t use you statements Be non-judgmental Be open minded Statements should lead to a reflective response Takes time

  10. Reflection and Celebration Reflective questions have no right or wrong answer. Reflective questions are the foundation for self-improvement. Celebrate the victories (large and small)
