Increased added value (1) • Creating a direct system for cooperation with European colleagues leading to increased efficiency • Increased HTA information by use of the products of EUnetHTA such as the • HTA Core Model • Adaptation Toolkit • Toolkit to facilitate European collaboration on evidence generation on promising health technologies • Responding to developments in the EU and elsewhere that are relevant to HTA collaboration in Europe EUnetHTA | European network for Health Technology Assessment | www.eunethta.net

Increased added value (2) • Providing easy access to databases with a variety of information about ongoing and completed HTAs, HTA organisations, experts and training • Sharing a variety of information on health technologies (from emerging to established and disinvested technologies) • Facilitating production of national / regional / institutional HTA reports that incorporate information generated in collaboration. EUnetHTA Collaboration Founding Partners and the year 2009 • A group of 25 organisations from 13 EU Member States and Norway and Switzerland sustain EUnetHTA during 2009 • The Partners met once in Vienna in 2008 and now define, plan, finance, and ensure continuity during 2009 • The group will carefully coordinate the involvement of Partners in the next phase of EU networking on HTA together with others EUnetHTA | European network for Health Technology Assessment | www.eunethta.net

Joint Action between EU Member States and Commission on HTA in Europe On February 20, 2009 EU Commission and EU Member State appointed HTA bodies and representatives decided a Joint Action 2010-12 under the EU Health Programme EUnetHTA Collaboration was asked to bring the Joint Action forward and will develop and establish the content as basis for the continuation of European networking in HTA and further work on Relative effectiveness assessment of pharmaceuticals Member States and the EU will provide funding After 2012 sustainability is assumed to be ensured through an EU Directive mechanism Sustainability with the support of governments and the European Commission seems closer than ever EUnetHTA | European network for Health Technology Assessment | www.eunethta.net
