  2. SIMATIC WinCC V5.0 • Highlights of the Version • MultiServer • Web Navigator • Totally Integrated Automation • Efficient Configuration • Functional Enhancements in the Graphics Designer • Enhancements to Communications • Enhancements in WinCC V5 Service Pack 1

  3. Multi ServerOverview • Distribution of Servers • Higher Performance Profile • Easier Expansion of the System • Better Performance • Multi Client as a Common View of the Servers WinCC - scaleable from a single-user station up to a distributed system.

  4. Distribution of ServersOverview • Performance Profile • 6 servers (redundant pairs too) with up to 16 clients (tested performance profile) • Distribution is Solved by Configuration • Functional distribution, e.g. for archiving and visualization • Distribution to subsystems

  5. Distribution of ServersFunctional Distribution Multi Client Visualization Server Trend Server Alarm Server

  6. Distribution of ServersDistribution to Subsystems Multi Client Plant Section 1 Plant Section 2 Plant Section 3

  7. Distribution of ServersConfiguration of Distributed Systems 1. Transfer/Conversion of Version 4 Projects and Pictures 2. Independent Configuration of the Servers (in accordance with Version 4.x) 3. Generation of Server Data The server package contains a list of picture names, variables and archives of the server that a Multi Client needs for its configuration. 4. Configuration of the Multi Client Project WinCC Server WinCC Multi Client

  8. Multi ClientOverview • The Multi Client takes an important part in a distributed system • A Multi Client provides a common view of • the process data of distributed servers in one picture • all the measured value archives, e.g. in one curve window • all the message archives • the pictures/picture windows of different servers Integration and bringing together of different server projects at the Multi Client

  9. Multi ClientConfiguration of the Multi Client • The Multi Client has its own project • The server data is loaded on the Multi Client • The view of the different servers is based on a new property: the server prefix ServerName::TagName • The system automatically transfers the server prefix to scripts, controls, pictures on the Multi Client

  10. Multi ClientOverview of Distributed System The Multi Client has its own project including additional pictures, e.g. for a common plant-wide alarm view. WinCC Multi Client Standard Client WinCCServer1 WinCCServer2

  11. Multi ClientView of Tags of Different Servers WinCC Multi Client I/O field linked to “Server1::Tag1” I/O field linked to “Server2::Tag2” WinCCServer1 WinCCServer2

  16. Web NavigatorOverview • Web Navigator Server • Communication to the WinCC Server • Administration of Access Rights • Web Navigator Client • Operation and Monitoring Over the Web • Limited operator inputs or purely view only function depending on the access rights • Minimum installation including WinCC ActiveX controls via network too WinCC Goes Web Operation and monitoring of the plant via the Worldwide Web

  17. Web Navigator Plant ConfigurationI Firewall Web Client Web Server WinCC Data Source Web Server Client-PC HTTP Request HTTP Result Browser

  18. Web NavigatorPlant ConfigurationII Firewall Web Client Web Server WinCC WinCC Data Source Web Server Client PC HTTP Request e.g.OPC HTTP Result Browser

  19. Web NavigatorPlant ConfigurationIII Maximum safety by physical separation of plant network and Internet Firewall WinCC DataSource Web Client Web Server WinCC Web Server Client PC Http Request Http Result Browser

  20. Web Navigator Client Strengths • Plant visualization and operation across the Interne / Intranet • Web Navigator Client is a thin client (up to 50 clients) • View of the plant or manufacturing information for Managers • Direct plant control by remote diagnostics for example • Safety by several levels of security • User-specific password • Firewall technology • Support of encoded communication • Minimal installation at client side (no entire WinCC system) • Direct use of WinCC pictures for the web • Optimized communications and performance • Optimization of WinCC pictures • Pictures can be transferred directly

  21. Web Navigator Client Limitations of the Web Client When transferring the comprehensive WinCC Runtime functionality to the minimum web client execution environment, there are some limitations: • No logs (log output on the web client is not supported) • No online configuration of server projects • No user archives • No global scriptsProject and global functions must be present on the local system: this is of course not possible with a Web client. As a result, these functions are not executed on the Web client. The system does support event-triggered scripts (e.g. on mouse click) in pictures and on objects. • Referenced graphics (e.g. bitmaps) on buttons, graphic objects etc. are not displayed • No full PCS7 support, e.g. navigation through pictures

  22. Totally Integrated Automation Overview • Direct Use of STEP 7 Symbols in WinCC • STEP 7 Block Call from WinCC Runtime • Entry into STEP 7 Hardware Diagnostics

  23. Totally Integrated AutomationInterconnection of STEP7 Symbols • WinCC Project as a Part of the STEP 7 Project • Interconnection of STEP 7 Symbols from the WinCC Tag Dialog • No duplicate input of tags. • DirectaccesstoSTEP7 data. • Addressing errors avoided due to consistency WinCC tag dialog box of the Graphics Designer with view of the STEP 7 data store.

  24. Totally Integrated Automation STEP 7 Block Call • STEP 7 Block Call from WinCC Runtime • Representation of active networks • Return to the corresponding WinCC picture • Navigation to different places of use Jump to a defined STEP 7 network from a WinCC picture in runtime for diagnostic purposes. Rapid, guided diagnostics in the STEP 7 program.

  25. Totally Integrated Automation STEP7 Block Call Overview Symbol Table (Automatic) Network Entry Symbol Places of Use FB1 Network xFB2 Network y Return to the WinCC Picture S7 Network

  26. Totally Integrated Automation Entry into STEP 7 Hardware Diagnostics • Start of the STEP 7 function „hardware diagnosis“ from WinCC Runtime • Hardware error detection in WinCC e.g. via a message HW error

  27. Efficient ConfigurationOverview • Cross-Reference List • Listing in table form of tags, pictures, functions ... • Selective lists • Central rewiring • Jump from the cross-reference list to the tags' place of use • Display of all the dynamic properties of a picture • Dragging and dropping of tags • Rapid rewiring of tags in pictures

  28. Direct rewiring or jump to place of use Subdivided by variables in use or not in use Efficient ConfigurationCross-Reference List • Listing in table form of tags, pictures, functions ...

  29. Efficient Configuration Cross-Reference List • Selective lists in accordance with the filter setting • Selection by objects, e.g. pictures as in use or not in use • Search in pictures, functions, archives, messages

  30. Efficient ConfigurationPicture Properties • Picture preview • Display of picture dynamization in an overview or selectively by type of dynamization

  31. Efficient ConfigurationDragging & Dropping Tags • Tag linking in the Graphics Designer by means of drag & drop • Rapid rewiring of variables in pictures

  32. Functional Enhancements (Graphics Designer) User Interface • Tag and ActiveX Toolbar • Multiline Button Labels

  33. FunctionalEnhancements(Graphics Designer)Trend/AlarmWindowsasActiveXControls • Conversion of Application Window to ActiveX Controls • Direct display and configuration of message and trend windows after pasting the controls in the Graphics Designer • Storage of sample controls in the library • New Functions of the Controls • Online trend window without its own archive • Free definition of number of places after decimal point in Table Control Direct display of trend and alarm windows in Graphics Designer Quick configuration dialog
