  3. Purpose • An Garda Síochána • Child centered, effective and efficient • Detention as a Last Resort • Deal with offending • Avoid re-offend • Interagency co-operation

CASE MANAGER Manages one Individual Young Person Details of Case Manager are entered into the Garda PULSE Any Garda accessing the Young Person’s file is asked to contact the Case Manager Bring ALL charges before the Court on the same date Interagency/Communication (Young Person, Family, All agencies) Desired Outcome - More accountability over offenders - Reduce Court Time - Deal with Court cases quicker - Help improve utilisation of Garda Resources - Enhance Interagency Collaboration - Improve Outcomes for Young People

  6. Findings • 16 Gardaí - 16 young people • Males – 13 to 18 year olds • 219 charges – 2 to 35 charges • 219 to 80 - drop of 64%
