What is Prezi? • Flash-based • There is an App for Ipad now (which does not support Flash) • Browser-based, cloud based • Less linear than Powerpoint • Create a visual map of ideas • You can add bullet points when needed, just like PowerPoint • Insert PDFs, Youtube video and images • Present full screen from a browser, or any computer with a Flash player • Embed in a blog or webpage • Fun to make, Fun to watch • Collaborative: invite others to your Prezi workspace to brainstorm

  3. Pricing • Click Sign-up in upper right of home page • Choose Student/Teacher Licenses • FREE: 500 mb storage, present offline, use own logo

How to begin • Go to: http://prezi.com/ and register • Your Prezis tab>New Prezi • Use the Zebra to: • Drag stuff around (center hand) • Resize it (+ and -) • Rotate it (outer ring) • Edit text (pencil) • Use the bubble tool to: • Choose colors and fonts • Create a path • Add a frame • Insert media

  5. Zooming • Zoom in or out with zoom tool • Or, just use the wheel of your mouse • Start in mid-range • Don’t lose your place! • Zooming too far in or out can make you “lose” your presentation

  6. Sharing • Click Meeting on Upper toolbar • Choose “Start online presentation” or “Invite to edit” • Copy and email the link to see presentation or edit presentation

  7. Presenting • Present and navigate using the buttons at the lower right • You can also click anywhere on the screen and it will zoom there • Stray from the “path” whenever you like during a presentation

  8. Two parts to the process • Create the visuals • Add a path to guide your audience through the visuals
