  3. OOB SharePoint 2010 Mobile Support Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 supports accessing information from a web browser enabled mobile phone or other devices. Mobile Entrée ‘s SharePoint 2010 Mobile Support Mobile Entrée is • Solution packages/features which need to installed/activated on SharePoint site • Entrée is a SharePoint Solution which includes out-of-the-box mobile applications, a development API, and Administration and Configuration pages. • Configuration of mobile access is done on a per-site basis as the content from site to site can vary widely. Features of Mobile Entrée • Rich Interface to access out of the box SharePoint capability such as lists, document libraries, workflow, search and much more • Mobile Entrée supports almost all the Smartphones like Blackberry, Windows Phone, iPhone, iPad, Android, PalmOS and Nokia Symbian devices with no need to install any ‘apps’ on the device. • Mobile Entrée extends SharePoint into a MEAP (Mobile Enterprise Application Platform) providing a rich API to build your own mobile applications without any need to program for the different devices • Configuring OOB SharePoint is straight forward. Limitations of Mobile Entrée • ME only supports out of the box SharePoint capability such as lists, document libraries etc only • Some OOB controls such as list attachment control and custom SPField controls are not supported. • Site branding, Look and Feel is not replicated as is on Mobile browsers. • There is no straight forward approach to display webparts or Custom Controls developed for normal browser based application. • Developers has to get acquainted with the API’s to develop custom Mobile Applications. • There are limited methods & Properties provided by the API Ram Vilas pawar & Jadhav, Abhijeet Madhukar
