  5. How is defined VoIP service in the Slovak Republic? • According to Recommendation ITU-G. 114 • Delay of transmission have to be more than 250 ms Slovakia and IP telephony

  6. Reasons for issuing licence for providing of VoIP service Necessity of numbers for providing VoIP (dial-up) Condition under which general authorisation for providing of VoIP services is sufficient Not necessary numbers for providing VoIP (leased lines, VPN) Slovakia and IP telephony

Which conditions you have to fulfil when you want to offer VoIP services on the basis of general authorisation • Registration to Telecommunications Office of the Slovak Republic (NRA) till 30 days from start to provide VoIP services • To submit General conditions for providing VoIP services according with § 39 and 40 of Slovak Telecommunications Act to NRA Slovakia and IP telephony

  8. Situation with providing VoIP in the Slovak Republic as of 31 July 2003 • 31 licence holders for VoIP services • A lots of registered providers of VoIP Slovakia and IP telephony

  9. Mobiles operators and VoIP in the Slovak Republic • Two mobile operators offer GSM services in the Slovak Republic • Both operators offered VoIP services, because till the end of the last year was only Slovak Telecom services were possible to be use for international traffic • Another reason was price of international calls (VoIP was evidently cheaper) Slovakia and IP telephony

  10. What is the future of IP telephony in the Slovak Republic • As fix voice network is not fully digitalised, Slovak Telecom has decided solve this by next generation network. • Next generation network solve voice services thru IP telephony. Slovakia and IP telephony
