  3. Strategy • Intensified service delivery to protect UN staff health and safety; • Pre-positioning of emergency supplies; • Technical assistance to the Host Country; • Coordination and Communication. United Nations System, ETHIOPIA

  5. Communication • IEC Materials Developed • Brochure • Poster • Leaflet • Video • Town Whole meeting • 24 hrs hotline service established • SMS messaging • Support to the National Effort United Nations System, ETHIOPIA

  6. Finance • Resource requirements identified: • Required equipment; • Cost of drugs estimated; • Non medical cost identified; • Cost sharing mechanism developed. United Nations System, ETHIOPIA

  7. Logistics • Logistic team established to organize transportation and other resources needed in time of emergency; • All UN agencies vehicles to be deployed in time of emergency are listed and reported to this team. United Nations System, ETHIOPIA

  8. Technical • Dealing with technical medical issues and health facilities; • Developed the contingency plan; • Ready for submission to SMT • Arranges service provision • Advises working groups on technical matters. United Nations System, ETHIOPIA

  9. Security • Provided forum for contingency planning. • So far three SMT meetings held on Influenza A. Constituted Crisis Management Team (CMT). • Area Security Coordinators designated focal points in planning for staff in the regions. • Rely on warden system • Regions – System exists, being updated in some regions. • Addis Ababa – System being re-invigorated.
