  2. summit A mountain’s summit is its very top. If you are standing at the summit of a mountain, where are you? 1. on a ledge on the side of the mountain 2. at the top of the mountain

  3. accustomed If you are accustomed to something, you are used to it because it has been a regular part of your life. What is an everyday task you are accustomed to? Turn and tell your partner. Begin your sentence like this: “I am accustomed to _____ every day.”

  4. A streamlined design is efficient and has no unneeded parts. streamlined Which is more streamlined: 1.a regular telephone? 2. a cell phone? Turn to your partner and explain. Start your sentence like this: “A ____ is more streamlined because …”

  5. essential Something that is essential is absolutely necessary. If you were traveling to a cold climate, what things would be essential to take with you? Turn and tell your partner. Form your sentence like this: “It would be essential to take ___ to a cold climate because…”

  6. secure Something that is secure is safe and not likely to give way. Which is more secure to climb: a tree with big, thick branches? 2. a tree with thin, flimsy branches? Turn and tell your partner. Begin your sentence like this: “A tree with ____ would be more secure to climb because …”
