What contributed in long term partnership Establishment of institution with focus on technical aid Availability of professional services to grassroots agencies Contributed in the national efforts by identifying appropriate technical options (Hand pump, ground water exploration, Watershed development approach, Deenbandhu biogas model etc) Adopted networking approach for wider dissemination of technology and addressing the issue on common concern

AFPRO gained from long term partnership • AFPRO could do focused work - technical support • Experimented – action research • Maintained professionals competencies as per requirement • Network of civil society organization, research agencies & govt dept • Access to remote and neglected areas • Established Program Administration (PMEIS & Finacial) Systems • Incorporated cross cutting issues

  4. Difficulties in handling such long term partnership Some times external concept introduced with top down approach which may not be relevant in socio-cultural context

Partnerships with NGOs being served AFPRO have clarity on relationship with partner agencies, broadly it is characterized as given below Networking Request based Services Capacity Building Collaborative AFPRO use to extend free services, there are many occasions like projects are developed by AFPRO as services were free but not implemented

  6. Partnerships with communities being served Community is considered primary stakeholder in program Involvement of community is given thrust from the initial stage of project Concept of own means has been introduced - either in kind or cash Community empowerment through - transfer of skill & knowledge and setting up systems so that created infrastructure managed at local level AFPRO is conscious on its role as facilitator

  7. Current strategy for resource mobilisation  Proactive Collaborating with like minded organizations having complementary competencies Visibility Documentation of best practices & dissemination Services on cost recovery basis which use to be available free for NGOs
