Program Goals • Create and sustain a culture of health and wellness at the County • Provide opportunities for employees to gain new experiences through classes, presentations, and programs • Increase utilization of preventive care (Primary Prevention) • Increase health education and awareness • Reduce costs of Secondary & Tertiary Prevention (treatment of the advanced stages of preventable conditions)

Health and Wellness Report Card Completely Voluntary, open to benefit eligible employees Duration: January 2nd to November 30 annually Complete Franklin County Health and Wellness Activities to Earn Points! NEW! These Points Must Total 700 by November 30, 2019 700 points Earned = $500 or $20.83 per pay off premium or additional on pay starting in January 2020

Preventive Care Time Off • 7.5 – 8 hours per calendar year (Determined by employee status) • NOTE: This time off may only be used for Preventive Care not the treatment of illness or injury • Appropriate and Inappropriate uses of PCTO time: • **Note: Participants must receive approval from HR as well as submit verification of PCTO and proof of preventive care appointment to HR.

  19. Lifestyle Change Program • Spring Cohort • January 14th – April 5th, 2019 • 12 weeks • 200 W.R. C. points • $78 (payroll deduction) • 12 lifestyle change classes lead by a Certified Nurse Practitioner • 3 classes each of the following Yoga, Exercise Classes, Relaxation Techniques, Qigong • Initial Inbody Screening and Final Inbody Screening • Weight Watchers at Work Weekly Meetings • **Note: Participants must attend at least 6 classes and 6 activities to be eligible for 200 points

Courtney Group: Healthy Living Coordinator, YMCA • Bachelors of Science from Slippery Rock University 2018 • Major: Public Health • Former college track and cross country athlete • A member of the Healthy Living Department at the Chambersburg YMCA • Responsibilities: • Develop and implement wellness programs at Volvo CE • Educate employees on the different aspects of wellness • Analyze and evaluate data to improve current wellness programs at Volvo • Plan and host on-site Health Fair at Volvo CE

Andrew Tees, Employee Health & Safety Coordinator • Bachelors of Science from Lock Haven University in 2009 • Masters of Science from University of New Haven (CT) in 2010 • NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer since 2009 • Experience working in college and professional sports before joining VCE in May 2017 • Goal upon joining VCE was to promote a culture of “proactive instead of reactive” when it comes to injuries/pain • Responsibilities: • FMLA Administration • Short-term & long-term disability • Workers’ Compensation claims • Ergonomics improvements onsite

  28. Health & Wellness Program Mission Statement The Volvo Healthy Living Program exists to create a culture of wellness within the Volvo CE North America community through on-site wellness activities, as well as the sponsorship and promotion of healthy living activities within local communities.

Why is Health & Wellness Important to Volvo CE? “We believe that wellness, in its many forms, helps deliver tangible business results with regard to productivity, reduced costs, and increased engagement. More than that, our wellness programs help deliver improved quality of life for our employees and their dependents. When our employees are healthy and happy, we do better at delivering on our mission of prosperity for our customers, business, community, and society” -Andy Williford, VP of HR and Country HR Leader

Biometric Screenings • Provided free onsite every year since 2012 with mixed results • Participation often in the 5-10% range • Partnered with Summit Health for 2018 screenings with great results • First year of incentive-based program (Reduced insurance premiums) • 49.4% of all employees completed screenings

  33. Results 64% of females screened categorized as having moderate or high risk for heart disease due to low HDL levels

Action Plan • Tobacco cessation • Offered once a quarter • 10 participants in the first offering • 4 participants reported that they have stopped using tobacco due to the class • Information Sessions in the Cafeteria • Leading up to the 2019 biometric screens there will be weekly information sessions in the Cafeteria • Focus on what to do if you are at risk for diabetes or heart disease • Infographics inform employees of our results throughout the year • Adding spouses to increase accountability • Spouses account for our highest claims • Future: • Prevent T2 classes on-site

Onsite Medical Clinic • Opened in May 2018 • Held every other Wednesday from 11 AM - 3 PM • Works as a Urgent Care without labs and X-Ray • Roughly 100 unique visits • Benefit to employees: • Free to full time employees • Fast & efficient walk-in appointments • Benefit to Volvo CE: • Cost controlled healthcare • Employees don’t lose productivity time by leaving for an appointment

  37. Live Health Online • Telemedicine Kiosk located at VCE • Employees have access to Kiosk onsite or at home via the mobile app or website • On Average, sees about 20-40 unique visits per year • Convenient and cost effective access to healthcare for employees

Onsite Fitness Center • Opened February 2018 • 360 waivers signed • As of January 2019, averaging 36 people per day • Benefit to Employees: • Available for use anytime employee has access to facility • Free for employees to use • Benefit to Volvo CE: • Supports wellness program goals • Employees don’t lose productivity time

YMCA Partnership • We partner with 6 YMCAs: 212 total memberships • Chambersburg: 113 Family Memberships, 25 Adult Memberships • Carlisle: 24 Family, 7 Adult • Harrisburg: 24 Family, 0 Adult • Waynesboro: 12 Family, 3 Adult • Hanover: 4 Family, 0 Adult • Benefit to Employees: • A free or discounted YMCA membership for Volvo employees and their family • Access to sports leagues, fitness classes, pools • Kids programs for all ages • Benefit to Volvo CE: • The partnership keeps the memberships at a low cost • Keeps strong community ties • Supports wellness program goals

Fitness Club Reimbursements • If employees chose to go to a fitness facility other than the YMCA they are eligible for reimbursement • $500 for a family • $300 for an individual • Benefit to Employee: • Promotes health and wellness to entire family • Allows them to seek fitness options anywhere • Benefit to Volvo CE: • Promotes health and wellness to entire family • Supports wellness program goals

Health & Wellness Week • Health Fair • Between 20-23 vendors • Last year some of our vendors were: • Quick Release Bikes • Summit Urgent Care • Delta Dental • New Day Yoga • Other 2018 events • 2 lunch and learns • Grit and Growth Mindset • Nutrition • 4 different fitness classes • POUND • Bollywood Dance • Core • Stretch and Scan • Stress reduction event called Painting Pumpkins

Other Screenings Offered Onsite • Thyroid Screenings Every September • ~100 participants each year • In 2017, had a positive result that led to the early detection of cancer in an employee • In 2018, had a positive result as well that led to the condition being actively managed • Heart Disease Risk Screening • ~100 participants each year • In 2018, we had 36 “abnormal” tests prompting those employees to seek additional testing • In 2019, we only had 10 “abnormal” tests • Body Composition Screenings • 6-7 events per year • 110 unique participants with a total of 214 visits

Other Events Offered Onsite • Blood Drives • Red Cross & Central PA Blood Bank • Averaging 15 participants • Our last Blood Drive in January had 24 participants • Designated Donor • Flu Shots • Partnership with Weis Pharmacy in Shippensburg • Free to employees • Offered every Fall onsite and at the Pharmacy • In 2018, employees and their spouses received almost 200 flu shots.

Other Offerings • Weekly Massages • Provided by New Day Yoga • $1/minute for employees, up to 20 minutes • Every Thursday from 11 AM - 1 PM • Breast Cancer Awareness Week • Employees wear pink or ribbons • One day event in cafeteria with photo booth and cupcakes • Wellness Programs • Falling into the New Year • Tour de Volvo

Other Offerings • Cumberland Valley Race Series • Employees receive free entries to the race series • 118 participants last year • Michaux Endurance Series • Employees receive free entries to the bicycle races • Monthly Sitewide Infographics • Different monthly topics showcased around the facility
