  3. East Auditorium Stage! • Closed until further notice due to safety concerns with the rigging system • House can still be used for meetings and assemblies • All concerts/events will be rescheduled at the J.P. Auditorium

  4. Snow Make-Up Days • Snow Make-up days: • April 17, 2014 • May 20, 2014 • Any additional snow days will be added to the end of the school year. • Any staff development days that are used for snow make-up will be added to the end of the school year.

  5. Building Access • Please check your Friday email for building accessibility • Everyone must enter the building via the front doors of each building • Sign in and out on the board so we know who is in the building at any given time

IU Adult Classes Thank you teachers for sharing your space with the IU Adult classes • Begin Monday, January 6, 2014 • Held on Mondays and Wednesday evenings • Time: 5:30 – 8:30 pm (Teachers will arrive at approximately 5:15 pm with a 9:00 pm departure) • Class material will be stored in D099 • Only C-Floor rooms will be used

Midterm Reminders • During each lunch (1/10/14) students were instructed to report to the auditorium before lunch (Mon. 1/13/14 -pd. 4, Tues. 1/14/14 - pd. 5, Wed.1/16/14 - pd. 6) *Students will be dismissed from the auditorium to the cafeteria at 11:03 each day. • MIDTERM LUNCH PERIODS:   East and J.P. Lunch Periods: The first lunch shift of each day will report to the auditorium at 10:08 (students will be shown the movie, “Bully”).    The second and third lunch shift students will report directly to the cafeteria. *While in the auditorium guidance counselors may pull groups of students to present special information • *Midterm Periods: During exam days teacher lunch and prep periods may be used to score midterm exams.  (Non-instructional) Teachers meeting students during the scheduled class time will use that time for administering exams,  instruction and/or review. (Instructional)   • Midterms will be distributed to teachers and collected at the conclusion. • *(FOR SECURITY PURPOSES ALL MIDTERMS WILL BE SIGNED IN AND OUT)

  10. CDT Testing Dates • January 27-29 (Biology) • January 30-February 3 (Algebra 1) • February 4-6 (CA 100/200) • February 10-12 (ELL/Make-ups)

  11. Access Testing • Date: Jan. 27-Feb. 6th in CA Class • February 9-March 7th - some students may be pulled out to complete testing     *This includes make ups and students who receive consultative services    *Alternate ACCESS - STW and LFS studentsPlease encourage students to do their best on the test. If you have any questions, please ask an ESL teacher and/or email Amber Hilt. Note: Amber Hilt will be at East on Monday, January 13th and JP Wednesday, Jan 22nd to discuss this slide and answer any questions.

  12. Parent Contacts • Teachers are expected to interact with parents/guardians on a regular basis • Staff should document contacts on call logs and on Eschool SSPs and submit them on the last Friday of the month to the SLC secretary of your OSE assigned assistant principal • These contacts can resolve discipline problems and gain the support of parents/guardians

  13. Parent Conferences • Parents/Guardians that attended the January 9, 2014 PAC meeting will get first choice when choosing conference time(s) • ELL/Special Education Support/Gifted teachers will attend the conferences of their students • Remember to keep track of student /parent attendance (Turn papers into the office)

  14. Co-curricular Positions • Staff needed to fill the following positions: • One Mock Trial Advisor • Senior Class Advisor • (East building: Stackhouse) (J.P.: Reese) • Six Stem Advisors • (East building: Hess) (J.P.: Wende) *Still need two more from each building

  15. Guidance Counselors • Guidance counselors located at East are now located in C133

  16. Parent Cafe • When: Tuesday, January 14, 2014 • Morning Session 9:00-10:30 am • Evening Session 6:00-7:30 pm • Place: J.P. Parent Access Center room 160 • Speaker: Jenny Hernandez, Gear Up Program

  17. Holiday Celebration • Date: January 24, 2014 • Time: 5:00-8:00 pm • Place: Federal Taphouse, 201 N. Queen St. • Cost: $10.00 per person • Appetizers will be provided • All types of beverages will be available • Please bring spouse, friends, or other • RSVP (East-Welk) or (J.P.-Bechtel)
