  2. The Extended Response • There is a choice of question • It is worth 8 marks out of 24 • It is in the Credit paper only

  3. What do you have to do? • You must have an introduction and a conclusion. If you do not do this you will lose 2 marks • You need to write in sentences. Lists or bullet point answers will lose 1 – 2 marks

  4. You must have at least one paragraph. If you do not you will lose a mark • Miss a line between the introduction and the rest • Start your conclusion with words like “In conclusion…” • You are allocated 1 mark for every relevant piece of evidence up to a maximum of 6 marks.

  5. You can gain 2 marks for a “developed point”. • The other two marks an for “structure” ie; sentences, paragraphs, an introduction and a conclusion.

  6. Example • Using the essay writing frame write your own 8 mark answer.
