history • The ANZ championship has been around since 2008. The competition has taken over two previous competitions including the Australian commonwealth Bank Trophy and the New Zealand National Bank Trophy. There are ten teams that compete in the competition, five from NZ and five from Australia. These two countries have won the international competition for as long as it has been around.
Waikato/ B.O.P Magic • Currently the Waikato/bay of plenty netball team in the ANZ championship is the magic. They were created when the Waikato Wildcats and the B.O.P Magic were merged together. The team was started back in 1999 when the Coca-Cola championship was created.
Waikato/B.O.P MAGIC RESULTS • The magic have never finished out of the top three positions since the competition started in 2008 so there is a lot of pressure for them to do well. • 2008: 2nd • 2009:3rd • 2010:2nd • 2011:3rd • 2012:1st
History of fans • The magic used to play at the mystery creek events centre, it had a capacity of 5000 people. Now they play at Claudelands events centre with a capacity of 4000.
